Sam has spent more than 16 years in wealth and investment management. He serves as Chief Investment Officer of F.I.G. Financial Advisory Services, an independent RIA founded in 1983, and is founder and CEO of Even Herd, an ETF manager whose Even Herd Long/Short ETF (Nasdaq: EHLS) launched in 2024. He has also co-founded a hedge fund manager, Carlson Ridge Capital, and a commercial real estate investment company, JRE Holdings.
A CFA and CFP charterholder, Sam brings firsthand insight into the workflows, fiduciary obligations, and technology gaps facing independent advisers. He founded Helmsted to build the operating system for independent wealth management: an AI-native platform that helps registered investment advisers do their best work for clients.
